Courtney Wiggins

Lifestyle Producer & On-Air Correspondent

Who is Courtney

I am a woman who aspires to be a successful entertainment news correspondent and producer. I've wanted this ever since I was four years old.  As a young girl during my childhood, I spent much of my days in my grandmother’s house in Indianapolis, Indiana listening to audio books, playing dress up, and pretending to be a host to an audience of stuffed animals.  It was at that time I discovered my passion to be on television and it has remained with me ever since.

Resume Overview

Upon completing an internship with WRTV6, I graduated from Wilberforce University in 2012. I was offered a job shortly thereafter working at FOX19 WXIX in Cincinnati, Ohio as a News Content Specialist. In 2013, I moved back to Indianapolis and started working as a Television Producer of the Hoosier Lottery show at FOX59 WXIN and transitioned into television engineering as a Master Control Operator in 2014. In addition to working for FOX affiliated news stations, I've had the opportunity to work for The Gridiron Crew in 2016 and 2017 as a contributing columnist and correspondent for their website in academic, professional and semi-professional sports. In 2019, I started working as a News Producer at KWWL in Waterloo, Iowa. After returning home to Indianapolis I began working at WISH-TV in 2021, as a Lifestyle Producer and On-Air Correspondent—creating and contributing to segments such as All Indiana the Scoop and Fashion Police.

Hobbies

When I am not busy working or partaking in church activities, I love to spend time with my family as well as working on my podcast, Conversations with Courtney. In addition to those hobbies, I love to read books, travel, and write.

My Dreams

My dream is to become a successful entertainment news reporter and producer. I also, see myself paying it forward by offering my spare time to mentor young girls who also dream of a career in broadcasting.

My Favorite Motto

"What’s for you is for you. You won’t have to fight or back bite to get it. And it most definitely won’t pass you by."

Why Journalism, Courtney?

This is my true calling. I've wanted to be a journalist my whole life. I remember as a young girl telling my grandmother, "Grandma, I want to be on TV one day." This is a passion in my life that has stuck with me from childhood, through my adolescent years, and now, in my adult life. This dream is a part of me. It’s who I am.
